Casey Osterberg
Casey is the lead vocalist and acoustic guitarist for Blonde Johnny. He started playing guitar in high school after his Dad passed down his old Yamaha acoustic. A couple YouTube videos later, Casey was playing songs by Tyler Childers, Whiskey Myers, Colter Wall, and Zach Bryan. He taught himself to sing by recording and listening back to his own vocals until they matched the pitch and tone of the songs he was working on.
Nearly a decade after picking up the guitar, Casey became one of the founding members of Blonde Johnny and began playing live both with the band and his church’s worship team. When he isn’t playing music, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their animals on their hobby farm.
Gregg Schwister
Gregg rounds out the edges and glues it all together with his rhythm guitar and back-up vocals. Music is his favorite way to relieve stress. Whether he’s out watching live music, playing in church, practicing at home, or jamming out on stage with friends, all is well. It’s quite a mystery how he has time for it though considering he has a wife, 5 kids, a farm full of animals, 3 businesses, is an avid hunter and fisherman, and likes to nap.
Dave DeMore
Dave DeMore is a guitarist whose style blends classic rock, blues, and country influences. His playing combines solid rhythm work with tasteful leads, always focusing on tone, feel, and supporting the song.
With Blonde Johnny, Dave brings a mix of traditional country textures and rock-influenced edge that helps drive the band’s sound both on stage and in the studio. He enjoys exploring both the art and the science of guitar, constantly chasing great tone and musical feel. Dave has also studied guitar performance through the Berklee College of Music and learned slide guitar from Howard “Guitar” Luedtke.
Dave Hodgson
Dave Hodgson has been playing bass for more years than he's willing to say. He lays down the foundation for his talented band mates to build on. When he met Casey, he knew he wanted to collaborate with him. Not only is Casey a super vocalist and rhythm guitar player, he is also a super person. Dave DeMore is a very skilled guitarist that plays from the soul. Dave DeMore and Dave Hodgson have collaborated in other bands. Greg Shwister and John Mueller make up the rhythm section. Dave and John have been performing together in various bands for years. Playing music with Blonde Johnny has been a joy and a blessing for Dave and he is grateful to be in a band with such great people.
John Mueller
John Mueller was born in the Buffalo New York area, which is Western New York and not upstate. He has always lived near the Great Lakes. He has the Midwest rust belt blue collar approach to drumming. Hard work and dedication is the foundation of his playing. His influences are far and wide, playing classic rock, reggae, blues funk and country. He loves playing live. “Music people are the best” is a quote he is fond of.
